The UNISA Online Application for the 2025 academic year is now open for all undergraduate qualifications, including Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Degrees, Higher Certificates, and Advanced Higher Certificates.

When must I Apply for Unisa 2025-2026?
You must apply for admission to the 2025 academic year during the relevant application period. Click here for more information about Unisa application dates. Below are the important dates and deadlines for Unisa applications for the 2025/2026 academic year;
- Undergraduate Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
- Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
- Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).
- Application and registration for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes are open from 14 May to 19 July 2024.
Documents to Apply Online At Unisa 2025/2026
The following documents are required to apply online at Unisa for the 2025/2026 academic year;
- Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
- Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
- Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
- Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
- Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
NOTE:
- Only upload the required documents as individual files and not a complete set of documents as one file. Please ensure that the documents and images you upload are clear.
- Files may not be larger than 2MB (2048KB) each.
- Only black and white documents may be submitted.
- Only the following file types are allowed: PDF (Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format file), DOC (Word document file) or TIF (image file)
How must I Apply for Unisa Admission 2025?
Everyone who wants to study at Unisa 2025 must apply for admission online. To Apply for Unisa online, follow the steps below:
- Go to Unisa website at www.unisa.ac.za
- Click on “Apply for Admission” at the top menu of the page
- Choose your qualification level (undergraduate, honours, postgraduate, etc)
- Read carefully the application instructions before you proceed
- Make sure you have your email address and cellphone number
- Proceed and click on “Apply Online” to start the online application
- Fill out the online application form with the requested details
- Upload all your supporting documents and pay an online application fee of R135
- Complete and submit your application for evaluation.
Unisa will review your application, which involves the points score system. You may be given a space for the 2025 semester 1, academic year based on your meeting the academic admission requirements for your qualification of choice, your minimum academic points score (APS) and the number of spaces that are available for the qualification for which you have applied.
All those who do not qualify for admission will receive feedback as soon as Unisa go through their applications. Applicants who qualify for admission will only receive final feedback if Unisa will offer them a space for the first 1 semester of the 2025 academic year or not once all applications received by the closing date have been processed.
