Application Opening And Closing Date At Unisa 2025

The application dates for the Unisa 2025 academic year are provided below;

  Application Date Unisa Undergraduate qualifications 2025:

  • Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year will be open from 21 August to 11 October 2025.

 The Application Open Date Unisa Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas 2025:

  • Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year will be open from 21 August to 11 October 2025.

  The Application  Open Date Unisa Master’s & doctoral qualifications 2025:

  • Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral qualifications for the 2025 academic year will be open from 2 September to 22 November 2025 (some exceptions apply).

 Application  Open Date Unisa Short Learning Programmes 2025:

  • Applications and registrations in Short Learning Programmes for the 2025 academic year will be open from May 14 to July 19, 2024.

Who Can Apply For Unisa  In 2025

Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply for admission. This includes

  • first-time Unisa applicants.
  • Unisa students changing to a new qualification and/or specialization.
  • applicants who previously applied for admission and were not offered a space or who were offered a space accepted the offer and did not register.
  • students completing a higher certificate or any other programme and who wish to continue with further undergraduate studies.

UNISA Application Fee 2025

Applicants for the 2025 academic year are required to make payment of a non-refundable application fee of R140.00. Applications sent without the application fee will not be processed. The deadline for application fee submission is the closing date for the application. Use the student number you receive from Unisa AND the application fee allocation number as your reference number.  Unisa Admission Requirements For New Applicants 2025

To be admitted into Unisa for 2025, Look out for the following requirements:

  • Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
  • Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
  • Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
  • Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
  • Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

NOTE:

  • Only upload the required documents as individual files and not a complete set of documents as one file.
  • Files may not be larger than 2MB (2048KB) each.
  • Only black and white documents may be submitted.
  • Only the following file types are allowed: PDF (Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format file), DOC (Word document file) or TIF (image file)

How To Apply At Unisa 2025

Follow the steps below to apply online at Unisa for the 2025 academic year;

  • Visit the official website of Unisa at www.unisa.ac.za
  • Navigate to the application section
  • Download the online application form
  • Complete the application form with the required information
  • Make payment of the application fee(140.00)
  • Upload certified copies of supporting documents
  • Review and Submit your completed application before the application closing date.
  • You will receive a confirmation SMS or email from the university to confirm your application.

Unisa 2025 As A New Applicant Information

You can still apply to Unisa. Undergraduate students applying to Unisa for the 2025 academic year must follow the below procedure:

  • You may apply for a maximum of two qualifications, ranked in order of preference (although you may only register for one should both of your qualifications be successful).
  • Unisa will inform you of the outcome of your application. If successful, Unisa will indicate for which qualification you have been accepted and will offer you a space for the period for which you have applied (eg semester 1).
  • You must accept or decline Unisa’s offer within the prescribed period. If you miss this deadline, Unisa will withdraw the offer and give your space to another applicant.
  • First-time applicants to Unisa will be required to complete the First-Year Experience MOOC (massive open online course) before being able to accept Unisa’s offer.
  • You may only accept one offer. This means that when you accept an offer for one qualification (irrespective of whether it is your first or second qualification of choice), the other offer will automatically fall away.
  • If you accept Unisa’s offer, you must register for the period for which you have been granted admission. Should you not register for the relevant semester of study, you will need to re-apply for admission during the next application period.
