Can Unisa Reject My Application Appeal For 2023-2024?
2023-2024 academic year admission at Unisa will open on the 1st of September 2022 and will be closing on the 14th of October 2022. After that, the University receives the applications that came in, Unisa will assess your application according to the academic admission requirements for your qualification of choice and your final mark received at the undergraduate level and Unisa will get back to you with a response to your application as to whether you have gained admission into the University or not.
Should it be that your application was rejected, you will be informed by Unisa through the email or phone number you provided during your application process, detailing the reasons for the rejection of your application. When you receive such a respend from Unisa, you are supposed to read carefully the content of the mail or message to see if there is an alternative option for you.
If your application for admission to a qualification or to both qualifications of choice is rejected, you may appeal the outcome of your application, either on the basis that you believe the decision was an error on the part of the university or that further supporting documents may result in a different outcome regarding your application for admission.
You have 10 days from the day on which you receive the outcome of your application to submit an appeal on the prescribed form. Please note that not uploading required supporting documents during the application process is not grounds for an appeal.
Please bare in mind that failure to upload relevant supporting documents throughout the application procedure does not constitute grounds for an appeal. Follow the process below:
- Visit the official website of Unisa and click on the application outcome icon.
- Scroll down and click on the bubble next to ‘Documents‘
- Fill in your information.
- Click on choose file and select the corresponding files from your device.
- Click on ‘Upload’
- Once done submitting all documents, click on ‘Submit documents and continue’
What Should I Do Next If My Unisa 2023 Application Was Successful
Unisa will inform you that your application for the 2023 academic year was successful and the qualification for which you have been accepted:
|Step 1||First-time applicants to Unisa must complete the First-Year Experience MOOC (massive open online course). The aim of the FYE MOOC (UOL009-FYE101_2023) is to orientate and prepare first-time entering students so that they can successfully undertake their studies at Unisa. Please note: You will not be able to accept Unisa’s offer (step 2 below) if you have not completed Unisa’s free online MOOC.|
|Step 2||After completing the FYE MOOC, you must accept or decline Unisa’s offer for the 2023 academic year within the prescribed timeframe (10 days, unless otherwise indicated in the offer e-mail). To accept or decline Unisa’s offer, go to www.unisa.ac.za/acceptoffer
* Unisa reserves the right to withdraw an offer if you don’t accept it within the time period indicated in the offer e-mail.
|Step 3||Register for the 2023 academic year. Registration for the 2023 academic year will open in January 2023. You must register for the period for which you have been granted admission. Should you not register for the 2023 academic year, you will need to re-apply for admission during the next application period.|
