Can I Graduate If I Fail A Module At Unisa?

Can I Graduate If I Fail A Module At Unisa 2023?

Graduation is the successful completion of a course of study at a university, college, or school, for which you receive a degree or diploma. At Unisa, students are expected to pass all modules for every academic year and semester but in case a student fails a module prior to graduation, the student will be able to progress to the next level if he or she carries at least 20 credits of failure. But if the student fails more than 20 credits, then they can’t progress. The only option is to retake the module.

Failure to pass the required number of modules will result in your inability to study further at the undergraduate level. A student wishing to be re-admitted to Unisa after being excluded on the basis of poor performance in qualification may only do so after providing proof of successful completion of a one-year certificate programme at NQF level 4, 5 or higher (with 48 credits) at another accredited institution or a Unisa short learning programme.

You will be able to retake the module on one occasion only, and your module mark will be capped at the minimum pass mark. The results of all final year students will be audited/verified prior to a student’s qualification status being changed from “final year” to complete. The audit will be finalised as soon as reasonably possible after the final examination results are published. Confirmation of completion of the qualification will not be provided prior to the audit being finalised.

What Do I Need To Graduate At Unisa

There are two graduation periods in each academic year. From March to June, students who wrote the second semester or year module examinations have their way to graduate, and from September to October students who wrote first semester examinations can also graduate.

When will Unisa Confirm That You Have Completed Your qualification?

After the examination results are released, a final-year student’s record is audited by the Directorate: Student Admissions and Registrations to verify the completion of the qualification prior to the qualification status being changed from “final year” to “completed”. The audit will be finalised as soon as possible after the examination results have been released. Your academic record will show “qualification incomplete” or “final year” until the audit has been completed.   Can You Graduate With A Failed Module At Unisa?

Unisa Students who have completed a three-year diploma, postgraduate diploma or a bachelor, honours, master’s or doctoral degree will be invited to attend a graduation ceremony.

This means that your qualification is awarded in your absence and your certificate will be posted under registered cover within two weeks of the ceremony.

Can I Graduate From Unisa If I Owe

Students who owe or have a pending disciplinary hearing, or owe any outstanding fees or library material, will not receive any notification about the completion of their qualification.

Can I Graduate If I Fail A Module At Unisa?

You won’t be able to continue your undergraduate studies if you don’t pass the necessary amount of modules. After being expelled from Unisa due to subpar performance in qualification, a student who wishes to be readmitted must first show proof that they have successfully completed a one-year certificate program at NQF level 4, 5 or higher (with 48 credits) at another accredited institution or a Unisa short learning programme.
Before a request for re-admission will be taken into consideration, the student must have fulfilled the requirements of this rule by earning at least 48 credits.              Unisa 2023

How Many Points Do I Need  To Graduate From Unisa 2023-2024

Qualifications require a certain number of credits, broken down into smaller units. At Unisa, undergraduate modules are usually 12 credits. Each module is pegged according to a specific NQF level. A bachelor’s degree of 360 credits, for example, consists of 30 modules of 12 credits each.

A bachelor’s degree may consist of

  • between 8 and 10 modules of 12 credits each at NQF level 5
  • between 10 and 12 modules of 12 credits each at NQF level 6
  • 10 modules of 12 credits each at NQF level 7
  • an additional 10 modules or 12 credits each at NQF level 7 for 4-year qualifications

These levels follow one another. When choosing a module, you must first have passed the module at the lower level. Before you can be awarded a qualification, you must have completed the required number of credits. The modules must be completed at the required NQF level.
