What Can I Study With Higher Certificate At Unisa?

What Course Can I Study With Higher Certificate At Unisa?

At the University of South Africa, a Higher Certificate is an entry-level qualification typically completed within one year. It provides students with foundational knowledge and skills in a specific field, often serving as a gateway to further studies in a related diploma or degree program which means a lot of focus is put into applying skills.

There is a focus on achieving the skills required to perform within the chosen field, and the qualification is typically industry-orientated. You will receive a basic introduction along with practical techniques that help you gain entry into your chosen field.

Despite not achieving a matric pass that will get you university entry or not getting into university because of applying late, there is still a way to pursue post-matric studies. You can do this by completing a Higher Certificate, which takes one year and opens the door to either degree study or a foot on the career ladder.

Many matriculants now find themselves in a situation where their plans to study towards a degree have been thwarted by marks that don’t allow them to cut. But there is still a way for those who remain determined to study towards a bachelor’s degree, that of pursuing a higher certificate, which will allow them to take the next step without having to repeat matric.
