Qualification admission requirements
Your admission to Unisa PGCE for 2024 is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.
A Senior Certificate with exemption, as well as a relevant certified Bachelor’s degree (360 or 480 credits) or equivalent National Diploma (360 or 480 credits) with English up to third-year level or Applied Language in English up to third-year level with English 1. Linguistics, African Literature, an African language, or Afrikaans must also have been completed through the second year.

You must also have completed Computer Literacy skills up to the first level in addition to the preceding prerequisites. This qualification accepts only online applications and registrations; no self-help or personal applications or registrations will be accepted.
Students who do not meet all the requirements should rather consider applying for a Bachelor of Education degree.

Applicants must pay the application fee once they have received your student number: R135 for online applications and R195 for hard copy applications
Please note that this application cost is non-refundable regardless of whether you decide not to study at UNISA, do not qualify for admission to UNISA, or are unable to be given space due to space constraints.
