Application for Admission to 2024

  • UNISA Application dates 2024 for Admission to Undergraduate qualifications, i.e. higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas & degrees: open 1 September and close 13 October 2023
  • Honours degrees & Postgraduate diplomas: 1 September – 13 October 2023
  • Master’s & doctoral qualifications: 8 September – 10 November 2023

UNISA Application 2024 Process

  • You will be able to apply for at least two programmes, in a higher ranked of preference (If all of your programmes are successful, you can only register for one.).
  • You will also get notification from UNISA of the application outcome. If it was successful, UNISA will show you for which qualification you have been able to accepted into and will as well offer you a space for the time for which you have applied into the first 1 semester.
  • You have to make sure that you accept or reject UNISA’s offer for the prescribed period of time given. If you are not able to meet this deadline, The University of South Africa, UNISA will take the offer and give the available space to another student. UNISA Admission 2024-2025
  • For those applying at UNISA for their First-time, you are required to complete the First-Year Experience (FYE) MOOC (massive open online course) before you will able to accept UNISA’s offer.
  • Remember that you are supposed to accept only one offer. When you are able to accept an offer for one programme even if it is your first or second qualification of choice, the other offer will automatically witdrawn.
  • All those who are able to accept UNISA’s offer should register for the time in which you have been given admission for semester 1 in 2024. If you don’t register for the necessary semester of your study, you have to re-apply for admission in the next application period.


Undergraduate applications:

  • Provide a copy of your school qualifications. If you want the list of acceptable school qualifications for admission per country, visit http://mb.usaf.ac.za/
  • Must provide a copy of your tertiary academic qualifications (if applicable)
  • Should also have a copy of your passport ID
  • A Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
  • Also, an Original sworn translations of documents must be provided by the applicant if they are not in English or Afrikaans
  • An M30 form – Application for a Certificate of Conditional Exemption (ONLY for admission to bachelor degree studies – not for BTech degree studies) (PDF 33KB) and supporting documents if you are applying for a certificate of exemption. UNISA Admission 2024-2025

UNISA Honours degrees and postgraduate diploma applications 2024:

  • Applicant must have a copy of tertiary academic qualifications, including the legend.
  • A Copy of your passport.
  • Marriage / divorce documents (if applicable and if the names on your academic record do not correspond with the names on your passport).
  • Original sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans.

Master’s and doctoral qualification applications:

  • All official university documents, including all papers/modules passed, percentages won, and the log. You are not allowed to request the Unisa academic transcripts.
  • A copy of your ID or passport.
  • A study summary, CV and any additional documentation as specified in the entry criteria for the relevant certification under the departmental focus area requirements.
  • Please contact the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology before submitting your application, since you would need a letter of approval from the college / department to be uploaded as part of your application.
