Every academic year, Unisa opens its doors to admit new or fresh students with a passing grade from 9-12 to study at the institution and 2023 is no exemption. Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2023 academic year will be open from 1 September to 14 October 2022. Unisa is by far the best university in South Africa.

Who Is Eligible To Apply For Unisa 2023

Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply for admission. This includes

  • first-time Unisa applicants.
  • Unisa students changing to a new qualification and/or specialisation.
  • applicants who previously applied for admission and were not offered a space or who were offered a space accepted the offer and did not register.
  • students completing a higher certificate or any other programme and who wish to continue with further undergraduate studies.

Unisa Admission Open Date For Applications 2023

Fresh applicants or prospective students who will like to enrol at the University of South Africa (UNISA) can begin with their application process because the application window is currently open. The application date for Unisa varies depending on the chosen qualification. Below are the  application dates for the various qualification as scheduled by the university:

 Unisa Undergraduate qualifications Application date 2023 :

Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2023 academic year will be open from 1 September to 14 October 2022.

 Unisa Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas Application Open date 2023:

Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2023 academic year will be open from 1 September to 14 October 2022.

 Unisa Master’s & doctoral qualifications Application  Open date 2023:

Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral qualifications for the 2023 academic year will be open from 11 September to 14 November 2022 (some exceptions apply).

 Unisa Short Learning Programmes Application  Open Date 2023:

Applications and registrations in Short Learning Programmes for the 2023 academic year will be announced in due course. Please be on the lookout for the messages in the next few weeks. As when the administration of Unisa brings out the date, this post will keep you updated.

Unisa Application For Admission Requirements 2023

To be admitted into Unisa for 2023, Look out for the following requirements:

  • Your admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.   • Some Unisa qualifications have limited spaces available. Meeting the general and/or specific admission requirements for a qualification does not guarantee that you will be offered a space for the 2022 academic year.

 

Unisa Application Process 2023

Undergraduate students applying to Unisa for the 2023 academic year must follow the below procedure:

  • You may apply for a maximum of two qualifications, ranked in order of preference (although you may only register for one should both of your qualifications be successful).

 

  • Unisa will inform you of the outcome of your application. If successful, Unisa will indicate for which qualification you have been accepted and will offer you a space for the period for which you have applied (eg semester 1).

 

  • You must accept or decline Unisa’s offer within the prescribed period of time. If you miss this deadline, Unisa will withdraw the offer and give your space to another applicant.

 

  • First-time applicants to Unisa will be required to complete the First-Year Experience MOOC (massive open online course) before being able to accept Unisa’s offer.

 

  • You may only accept one offer. This means that when you accept an offer for one qualification (irrespective of whether it is your first or second qualification of choice), the other offer will automatically fall away.

 

  • If you accept Unisa’s offer, you must register for the period for which you have been granted admission. Should you not register for the relevant semester of study, you will need to re-apply for admission during the next application period.
