First-time applicants are to upload their South African ID documents( South African Applicants), Passport numbers for international applicants, result- slips and every needed requirement as needed by Unisa together with their applications. Failure to upload certified documents will deny your application being processed.

Who Is Eligible To Apply For Unisa 2023

Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply for admission. This includes

  • If you are completing a higher certificate, you must apply for admission if you want to continue with further undergraduate studies.
  • You must re-apply for admission if you previously applied for admission and were offered a space, but did not accept the offer and/or did not register for any reason.
  • Everyone planning to enrol for classes at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college under the Unisa-TVET agreement must apply for admission.

Application Date For First-Time Applicants At Unisa 2023

First-time applicants applying to the University of South Africa (UNISA) can begin with their application process because the application window is currently open. The application date for Unisa varies depending on the chosen qualification. Below are the  application dates for the various qualification as scheduled by the university:

 Unisa Undergraduate qualifications Application date 2023 :

  • Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2023 academic year will be open from 1 September to 14 October 2022.

 Unisa Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas Application Open date 2023:

  • Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2023 academic year will be open from 1 September to 14 October 2022.

 Unisa Master’s & doctoral qualifications Application  Open date 2023:

  • Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral qualifications for the 2023 academic year will be open from 11 September to 14 November 2022 (some exceptions apply).

 Unisa Short Learning Programmes Application  Open Date 2023:

  • Applications and registrations in Short Learning Programmes for the 2023 academic year will be announced in due course. Please be on the lookout for the messages in the next few weeks. As when the administration of Unisa brings out the date, this post will keep you updated.

2023 Applications Needed From First Time Unisa Applicants.

Your admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification. If you don’t meet these requirements, you may want to consider alternative qualifications.

Some Unisa qualifications have limited spaces available. Meeting the general and/or specific admission requirements for a qualification does not guarantee that you will be offered a space for the 2022 academic year.

  •  have a valid e-mail address and cellphone number, and I accept that Unisa will communicate with me during the application process using this e-mail address and cellphone number. Please ensure that you provide only one e-mail address and one cellphone number during the application process.
    *  If you do not have an e-mail address, you may create a free e-mail address via Gmail before you start the application process.
    ** Remember to save your e-mail address and password.
    ** It is very important that you check your e-mails regularly for communication from Unisa about your application.

 

Application Fees For First Time Unisa Students 2023

  • R125 for online applications
  • Use the student number you receive from Unisa AND the application fee reference number (ie YOUR STUDENT NUMBER 5370810030)

  • Visit www.unisa.ac.za/paymentinfo for banking details and payment information

The due date for the application fee is the closing date for the application period. Any application submitted without an application fee paid on time will not be processed. Please ensure that you keep a copy of your proof of payment.

 

Application Process For Unisa First-Time Applicants 2023

  • You may apply for a maximum of two qualifications, ranked in order of preference (although you may only register for one should both of your qualifications be successful).

 

  • Unisa will inform you of the outcome of your application. If successful, Unisa will indicate for which qualification you have been accepted and will offer you a space for the period for which you have applied (eg semester 1).

 

  • You must accept or decline Unisa’s offer within the prescribed period of time. If you miss this deadline, Unisa will withdraw the offer and give your space to another applicant.

 

  • First-time applicants to Unisa will be required to complete the First-Year Experience MOOC (massive open online course) before being able to accept Unisa’s offer.

  • You may only accept one offer. This means that when you accept an offer for one qualification (irrespective of whether it is your first or second qualification of choice), the other offer will automatically fall away.

 

  • If you accept Unisa’s offer, you must register for the period for which you have been granted admission. Should you not register for the relevant semester of study, you will need to re-apply for admission during the next application period.
