SATAC, or the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre, serves as a unified admissions office for all higher education institutions in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Its primary role is to process and assess applications for tertiary courses in these regions. While SATAC handles the application process, the institutions themselves determine who will receive offers. SATAC then extends these offers on behalf of the institutions.
Additionally, SATAC processes applications for selected equity scholarships at the University of South Australia and calculates the university aggregate and ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) for SACE and NTCET students. SATAC Online Application Date 2025
The application portal for the 2025 academic year Applications open in early August before the year of admission. Prospective students are urged to submit their applications during this timeframe.
Who Qualifies To Use SATAC Online Application 2025
You can apply through SATAC if you are a domestic applicant or an international Year 12 applicant. You are a domestic applicant if you are:
- an Australian citizen
- an Australian permanent resident
- a holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa, or
- a New Zealand citizen
SATAC Application Fee for 2025 Undergraduate Students
SATAC processing fees will apply to your application. Fees are subject to change depending on the type of courses you are applying for and the date you submit your application. Provided below are the required processing fee for 2025
Undergraduate Fees
Applying for Semester 1 Courses: From 5 August 2024 to 30 September 2024
- Current Year 12 students: $60
- All other applicants: $100
- From 1 October 2024 to mid-March 2025
- Current Year 12 students: $210
- All other applicants: $250
Applying for Later Year Courses (including midyear and summer semesters): From 5 August 2024 to mid-November 2025
- Current Year 12 students: $60
- All other applicants: $100
Postgraduate Fees
- For applications in 2025, the fee for all applicants is $105.00.
TAFE SA Fees
- SATAC applications for TAFE SA courses are free.
- TAFE SA processing fee: FREE
NOTE: Please note that the fees for midyear and summer semesters apply if you only include midyear or summer semester courses in your preferences. If you add a semester 1 preference to your application after 30 September 2024, a higher fee will apply. Closing dates for courses vary.
Application Fee Payment Option For SATAC 2025
There are a few options for paying your SATAC fees. You can make payment using any of the following methods;
Pay online
- You can pay online using a Visa or Mastercard.
Pay in person
- You can print a tax invoice from your application which you can then use to
- Pay at any Australia Post Office using POSTbillpay
- Pay in person at SATAC using EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard
*SATAC does not accept cash payments.
Entry Requirements For SATAC Application 2025
For many courses, you will need to have an academic qualification to be eligible to apply. The specific qualifications required will vary depending on whether you’re applying for undergraduate, postgraduate, or TAFE SA courses. Additionally, institutions and courses may require proof of English proficiency.
Some courses also have additional application requirements, which must be met alongside the standard entry requirements. These additional requirements might include submitting a portfolio, attending an interview, or providing a clinical placement form.

How To Apply Through SATAC 2025
The SATAC application process is straightforward. If you have not used mySATAC to apply for courses before, you will need to create an account to start your application. Be sure to register with an email address that you will have regular, ongoing access to (avoid using a school email address).
This email address will not only be your login for mySATAC, but it’s also where SATAC will send important updates about your application. Missing an email from SATAC could mean missing crucial information about your application or offer. You can create a mySATAC account before applications open to get familiar with the application process. To apply follow the step-by-step guide below;
- To start an application choose the Apply Now/Log In button at the top SATAC official page at: https://satac.edu.au/
- Choose an application cycle from the available options.
- Provide details about yourself and your qualifications and list the courses you want to apply for
Once you have registered or logged in to mySATAC, the basic steps of an application are:
- Read and accept the terms and conditions of the application
- Complete the personal details page
- Choose your course preferences
- Provide details about your qualifications and experience (if requested)
- Check your application is complete and accurate, then submit
- SATAC will confirm that you have submitted your application by emailing you an acknowledgement.
After you have applied, you can log in to your application to:
- Pay your processing fee (undergraduate and postgraduate applications only)
- Provide documents (if necessary)
- Change your preferences
- Update your details
- Check your offer status
- Respond to your offer (undergraduate and TAFE SA applicants only)
NOTE:
If you cannot complete your application in one sitting, you can log out at any time and return later by logging in with your details. Undergraduate, postgraduate and international applicants must complete every section of the SATAC application, even if they have not done every type of study. You won’t be able to submit your application until you complete and save all required sections.

- Follow all instructions within the application, whether you are applying for the first time or changing your preferences
- Promptly provide all the information we ask you for
- Disclose details of all previous attempts at tertiary study
- Promptly provide any supporting documentation required by SATAC to assess your application
- Check and ensure you meet the closing dates of your course preferences
- Pay any application fees by the due date
- Read and agree to the terms and conditions of the application (you can find the terms and conditions on the registration page and inside each application)
