UNISA Online Application for admission to the 2025 academic year has been open for applications for all Undergraduate qualifications, i.e. Diplomas, Advanced diplomas & degrees, Higher certificates, and Advanced higher certificates.

UNISA application is the process by which prospective students apply for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered at the university. Unisa Online Application Date And Deadline 2025-2026

The University of South Africa has opened its application portal for applications for the  2025-2026 academic year. However, the application dates are provided below;

• Undergraduate qualifications

Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.

• Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas

Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024

• Master’s & doctoral qualifications

The Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).

• Short Learning Programmes

Application and registration for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes are open from 14 May to 19 July 2024.

Application Fee For Unisa 2025-2026

A non-refundable application fee of R140.00 is required from all Unisa 2025-2026 applicants. This fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study through Unisa, do not qualify for admission to Unisa or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available. Any application submitted without an application fee paid on time will not be processed. The due date for the application fee is the closing date for the application period.

Who Can Apply At UNISA 2025-2026?

You qualify to apply for admission for the 2025-2026 academic year if you fall within the categories listed below;

1. first-time UNISA applicants
2. Students of UNISA who wish to change to a new programme or want to specialize in a qualification
3. Those who earlier applied for admission to the 2025 academic year and were not offered a space
4. Applicants who were able to be offered space and accepted the offer but did not register

Please remember to check whether you meet the statutory and college-specific admission criteria, as well as the requisite academic points score (APS) for your chosen qualification, before applying. A minimum APS of 15 is required for a higher certificate, an APS of 18 for a diploma, and a minimum APS of 21 for a bachelor’s degree.

UNISA Required Supporting Documents for 2025-2026 Applications

Applicants beginning a new programme have to upload all the required supporting documents listed below:

• A copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
• The copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
• Applicants are required to provide a copy of their ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
• Please, provide a copy of your proof of marriage certificate or divorce decree if requested
• Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

• Go to UNISA Application for Admission tab
• Click on the Apply for Admission tab
• Choose your preferred qualification
• Make sure you have all your supporting documents ready to be Upload
• Click on Apply Online and complete the application process

UNISA Application 2025-2026 Outcome

Your submission will be evaluated by UNISA, which will provide a points scheme. If you meet the academic entry criteria for your chosen degree, the minimum academic points score (APS), and the number of places available for the qualification for which you have applied, you will be given a space for the first 1 semester of the 2025 academic year. Applicants who do not meet the admissions requirements will receive notification as soon as their applications are processed.
Applicants may not be immediately admitted to study at Unisa in 2025 based on the qualification and placement process described above.
