The myUnisa is the official Unisa academic student portal that allows Unisa staff and students to access useful information, such as news, administration functions and module or course sites. myUnisa can also be defined as an online student portal of the University of South Africa (Unisa) for all the information and services needed to assist you in managing all your studies throughout the year.
Please, be reminded that a single sign-on to most areas of the student portal and other straightforward navigation is going to make your interaction with Unisa systems and records so simple. Students who are currently admitted by Unisa will have access to all myUnisa features, a web-based portal for your study-related information and resources.
The Unisa myLife is a special email account that is been provided by Unisa to every applicant who has been admitted successfully into the University. Unisa will communicate with you only via your myLife e-mail account. Although we will occasionally send SMSs and letters, these will not be the main channels of communication.

How To Access Your myLife Account At Unisa
To access your myLife e-mail account, please follow these steps:
- Go to the http://mylife.unisa.ac.za/
- Enter your full e-mail address (eg xxxxxxxx@mylife.unisa.ac.za) and your password for your myLife e-mail account.
- Select “Sign in”.
How Re -Activate myLife Account At Unisa
It is necessary to reset your myUnisa password to synchronise it with your myLife mailbox:
- Login to myUnisa and click on “My Admin”.
- Click on the “Change Password” link.
- Complete the form to update your password. Please note that this new password will be active for both your myUnisa and myLife services.
Unisa Student Rules 2025-2026
Official communication from the university is sent via e-mail to a student’s myLife e-mail account. The rules for the use of the myLife e-mail account are as follows:
- The university provides all registered students with a free myLife e-mail address. It is the student’s responsibility to activate their myLife e-mail account as soon as their registration is finalized.
- The myLife e-mail account will be the only e-mail account recognized by Unisa for official correspondence to and from the university and will remain the official primary e-mail address on record at Unisa.
- All official communication from the university will be sent to the myLife account. Other additional communication channels may be used from time to time, but the university will communicate with students primarily via their myLife e-mail addresses.
- The management of this e-mail account remains the responsibility of the student.
