UNISA Application for 2025 Closing Date: Unisa Online Application Deadline 2025

 

The UNISA Application Closing Date for the 2025 academic year is the final deadline by which prospective students must submit their applications to the University of South Africa (UNISA) for a specific academic period. Therefore, if you are looking forward to applying online for the 2025-2026 academic year, you must take note of the important dates and deadlines in applying for admissions.

If you do not submit your application by the closing date, you may not be considered for admission for the term or semester. As an applicant for the 2025-2026 academic year, you must know the application deadlines for the programs and qualifications you wish to study as the dates vary among programs and qualifications.

Unisa 2025 academic year applicants are urged to submit their applications based on the given application dates for the programmes they wish to study at the university for the academic year. If the closing dates is set for a specific program, applicants must do well to submit their complete application along with the application and required documents before the closing dates as Unisa may not accept late applications in 2025.

UNISA Application Opening/Closing Dates for Admission 2025

UNISA typically has different closing dates for various programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and short courses, as well as for different types of applicants. To apply at Unisa for the 2025-2026 academic year, take note of the following dates;

  • Undergraduate Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
  • Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
  • Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).
  • Application and registration for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes are open from 14 May to 19 July 2024.

How to Apply University of South Africa (UNISA) Online Application 2025

All applications for admission must be submitted online during the prescribed application period. Applicants who want to enrol in classes at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college under the Unisa-TVET agreement can do so either through the TVET college or through Unisa’s online or self-help alternatives.

Anyone interested in beginning a new qualification must apply for admission. This includes the following:

  • Unisa applicants who are making their first application
  • Students changing to a new qualification and/or specialization
  • Applicants who previously applied for admission and were not offered a space
  • Applicants who were offered a space and accepted it an offer but did not register
  • Students completing a higher certificate or any other program and wish to proceed with further undergraduate studies

Follow the steps below to apply online at Unisa 2025;

  • Visit www.unisa.ac.za and apply online for 2025
  • At the top menu of the Unisa homepage, click “Apply for Admission”
  • Select your level of qualification (undergraduate/postgraduate, etc)
  • Read carefully the online application information
  • Click on the “Apply Online” link to begin the application process
  • At the homepage of the Unisa application tool, fill out the form with your details
  • Complete the online application form and click on “Submit” to send your application

Documents Needed for UNISA Online Application 2025

The applicants who are beginning a new qualification must upload all relevant documents, which often include the following:

  1. Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
  2. Copy of your school qualifications: Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate
  3. Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
  4. Copy of your marriage certificate or divorce decree if applicable
  5. Copy of your official tertiary academic records if applicable
