UNISA Application 2025-2026: Unisa application 2025 2026 dates

The University of South Africa, UNISA Online Application for the 2025-2026 Academic year opens for undergraduate, honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas applications. Therefore, it is an encouragement to all prospective applicants who wish to study at UNISA for the 2025-2026 academic year must submit an online application at www.unisa.ac.za before the closing date or deadline. UNISA will not accept Late Applications for 2025.

Unisa Application 2025 2026 Dates

The online application portal opens on the following dates;

• Undergraduate Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
• Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year will open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
• Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).
• Applications for Short Learning Programs from the 2025 academic year begin from May to July.

UNISA Application Fee 2025-2026

You must pay the University of South Africa (UNISA) online application fee of R135. Please, remember that this application fee is non-refundable if you decide not to study through UNISA or do not meet the admission requirements for the 2025-2026 academic year.

UNISA Admission Requirements 2025-2026

To gain admission to study at UNISA for an Undergraduate or Postgraduate programme for the 2025 academic year, you must meet the general admission criteria.

The University of South Africa, Unisa will assess your application, consisting of the admission points score system. You can be given a space for the 2025 academic year based on

• your meeting the academic admission requirements for your qualification of choice,
• your minimum academic points score (APS)
• the number of spaces available for the qualification for which you have applied.

Documents Required To Apply Online At UNISA 2025-2026

The following are the documents required to apply online at UNisa;

• Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
• Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
• Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
• Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
• Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

How to Apply at UNISA Online 2025-2026

The Online Application at the University of South Africa (UNISA) is very easy, quick and accurate. The reason is that, as you are filling out the application form for the 2025 academic session and you make a mistake or you enter the wrong information, you will be prompted to correct them immediately. To use the UNISA online application portal, follow the steps below:

• Step 1. Go to the UNISA website at www.unisa.ac.za
• Step 2. Click on the “Apply for Admission” tab
• Step 3. Choose the qualification in which you want to apply
• Step 4. Read the application details and proceed to the online application portal
• Step 5. Then, click on “Apply Online Here”. This opens the “UNISA Application Tool” window
• Step 6. Select the qualification level
• Step 7. Fill out the block with all the required details
• Step 8. Complete and submit your application for evaluation.

Those who do not meet the requirements for admission will be notified as soon as their applications are completed. You must accept or reject UNISA’s offer after you have received the final feedback from UNISA.
