Can I Graduate If I Fail A Module?
Can I Graduate At Unisa If I Fail A Module?
Graduation is the successful completion of a course of study at a university, college, or school, for which you receive a degree or diploma, however, you may not be able to graduate if you fail a module. At Unisa, students are expected to pass all modules for every academic year and semester but in case a student fails a module before graduation, the student will be able to progress to the next level if he or she carries at least 20 credits of failure. But if the student fails more than 20 credits, then they can’t progress. The only option is to retake the module.
You will be able to retake the module on one occasion only, and your module mark will be capped at the minimum pass mark. The results of all final year students will be audited/verified before a student’s qualification status is changed from “final year” to complete. The audit will be finalized as soon as reasonably possible after the final examination results are published. Confirmation of completion of the qualification will not be provided before the audit is finalized.

What Do I Need To Graduate At Unisa
There are two graduation periods in each academic year. From March to June, students who wrote the second semester or year module examinations have their way to graduate, and from September to October students who wrote first semester examinations can also graduate.
When will Unisa Confirm That You Have Completed Your qualification?
After the examination results are released, a final-year student’s record is audited by the Directorate: Student Admissions and Registrations to verify the completion of the qualification before the qualification status being changed from “final year” to “completed”. The audit will be finalized as soon as possible after the examination results have been released. Your academic record will show “qualification incomplete” or “final year” until the audit has been completed.
Who Can Attend The Unisa Graduation Ceremony?
Unisa Students who have completed a three-year diploma, postgraduate diploma or a bachelor, honours, master’s or doctoral degree will be invited to attend a graduation ceremony.
Students who have completed a postgraduate certificate or an undergraduate (one or two-year) diploma or certificate will be awarded their qualifications in absentia. This means that your qualification is awarded in your absence and your certificate will be posted under registered cover within two weeks of the ceremony.
Can I Graduate From Unisa If I Owe
Students who owe or have a pending disciplinary hearing, or owe any outstanding fees or library material, will not receive any notification about the completion of their qualification.
