Apply for Aegrotat Exam at UNISA 2025-2026: Unisa Exam 2025-2026

The University of South Africa (UNISA) Online Application for the Aegrotat examination for the 2025-2026 academic year is open. South Africans have been largely inconvenienced by the increased instances of load-shedding by Eskom over the last weeks and students have been advised to charge their devices and plan for the online examinations against their load-shedding schedules.

It has also been noted that some students are still affected negatively by poor network connectivity and are not able to complete their examinations. An aegrotat or special examination may be granted only by Rule 18 of the myRegistration Unisa Information Brochure.

An Aegrotat examination at Unisa (University of South Africa) is a special type of exam granted to students who were unable to sit for their scheduled examination due to illness or other serious circumstances beyond their control. The application must indicate the specific study unit for which the aegrotat examination is being requested, and candidates must have received examination admission for that particular study unit.

Therefore, students are advised to apply for aegrotat examinations before the application closing date. Students who have been able to apply for the aegrotats will be allowed to write their affected modules during the January/February 2025 examination sitting.
