The Unisa online registration date for the 2025 academic year has been released for applicants who were successful in the application process. The University of South Africa (UNISA) Online Registration 2025 academic year for Undergraduate & Honours qualifications has been opened Therefore, all undergraduate & honours students and re-registering students should take note and register for the 2025 academic year within the prescribed given period of registration before the deadline.

Applicants (new applicants & Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification) may only register if they have received an offer of placement from Unisa and have accepted the offer online. Unisa reserves the right to not process and/or cancel your registration if it is found that you were incorrectly admitted to a qualification. Re-registering students must register for the 2025 academic year during the relevant registration period.

A minimum fee amount is payable before the closing dates for registration for each module or paper for which you register. If this amount is not paid before the closing date for registration, the university will not be able to process your registration. After paying the minimum amount, the outstanding balance must be paid by the relevant dates.

UNISA Registration Closing Date 2025

Below are the registration dates for the various courses qualifications at Unisa in 2025.

Unisa Undergraduate & Honours Qualifications Registration Date:

Higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, BTech & degrees, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE):

For Undergraduate Semester 1 and 2 Modules, registration opens on 9 January 2025 and closes on 3 February 2025. The final date for making the initial minimum payment to finalize your registration is 28 February 2025.
For Undergraduate Year Modules, registration is open from 9 January 2025 to 20 March 2025. The initial minimum payment must be made by 20 March 2025 for your registration to be finalized.
For Undergraduate Semester 2 Modules registered in Semester 2, registration begins on 3 July 2025 and closes on 14 July 2025. The final date for making the initial minimum payment is 14 July 2025.

Unisa Honours Degrees & Postgraduate Diplomas Registration Date:

For Honours & Postgraduate Diploma Semester 1 and 2 Modules, registration opens on 9 January 2025 and closes on 3 February 2025. The final date for making the initial minimum payment to finalize your registration is 28 February 2025.
For Honours & Postgraduate Diploma Year Modules, registration is open from 9 January 2025 to 31 March 2025. The initial minimum payment must be made by 31 March 2025 for your registration to be finalized.
For Honours & Postgraduate Diploma Semester 2 Modules registered in Semester 2, registration begins on 3 July 2025 and closes on 14 July 2025. The final date for making the initial minimum payment is 14 July 2025.

Unisa Masters & Doctoral Degrees Registration Date:

For Master’s & Doctoral Qualifications, registration opens on 9 January 2025 and closes on 31 March 2025. The final date for payment is 30 April 2025.
For Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Leadership (MBL) qualifications (second semester modules only), registration begins on 9 January 2025 and closes on 3 February 2025. The final date for payment is 28 February 2025. (Note: All SBL students with a 7-series student number should contact the Graduate School of Business Leadership for assistance with re-registration at www.unisa.ac.za/sbl.)
For Master of Accounting Sciences (98656) AUE, FAC, GOV, INT, MAC & TAX options, registration opens on 9 January 2025 and closes on 3 February 2025. The final date for payment is 28 February 2025.

Unisa Registration Requirements 2025

Registrants who are registering to Unisa for 2025 must make sure they meet the statutory registration of the qualification of which they have chosen and also meet the minimum academic points score (APS) for their qualification(s) of choice. Registrants are to upload all the supporting documents along with the registration forms. Below are the supporting documents needed for Unisa registration:

Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

Enter your Student Number in the space provided and other details that are required
Consider checking your details on the screen
If any contact details are missing or incorrect, make sure you change them.
Then, click on the modules from the drop-down list for which you want to register.
Make sure you meet all the qualification requirements for your chosen modules
Ensure that you do not exceed the given number of modules per semester or year, otherwise, it may delay your registration process.
After that, you calculate your study fees.
Finally, submit your online Unisa registration.
