Does NSFAS Bursary Pay For Registration At Unisa?
YES. NSFAS pay tuition and registration fees for brilliant yet financially needy students at the University of South Africa(Unisa). Nsfas is known as the National Student Financial Aid Scheme in South Africa. This government body operates under the Department of Higher Education and Training and provides financial support to students who have gained admission into any of the public Tvet Colleges or Universities. Students who are facing financial challenges who have gained admission or those currently studying at Unisa can apply for Nsfas to pay for their registration fee, accommodation, living allowance and more.
Unisa students who are eligible for NSFAS funding are therefore urged to start the NSFAS application for the 2025 academic year. To apply for NSFAS funding, ensure you meet the criteria to receive funding.
Undergraduate students who are studying at the University of South Africa must have obtained an average of at least 75% and above in their previous year of study to qualify for the NSFAS bursary. Students who received the bursary in 2024 do not need to apply again. Such students must, however, meet the 75% average to be considered for the bursary in 2025.
