Diploma in Accounting Sciences: Diploma in Accounting Science Unisa

Accounting Science is the study and application of accounting principles, financial analysis, auditing, and taxation, combining theoretical knowledge with quantitative analysis and ethical practices to prepare professionals for complex financial decision-making and governance in organizations.

A Diploma in Accounting Sciences, which typically takes 1 to 2 years to complete depending on the institution and mode of study, equips students with foundational knowledge and skills in accounting, covering essential topics such as financial accounting, cost and management accounting, taxation, auditing, and business law and ethics, to prepare them for entry-level positions in accounting or further studies in the field.

Application Date For Diploma in Accounting Sciences At Unisa

Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024. All applications for admission must be submitted online, and admission to a qualification is not automatic; it depends on meeting the admission requirements and the availability of space.

Unisa Diploma in Accounting Sciences Admission Requirements

You must meet the exact entrance requirements for your selected qualification to be admitted to UNISA.

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Diploma endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning and at least 40% in Mathematics,
  • A Senior Certificate (SC) with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning and with at least an E symbol on HG in Mathematics,
  • A Higher Certificate in Accounting Sciences or a Higher Certificate in Economic and Management Sciences,
    an Advanced Certificate in Accounting Sciences.
  • Applicants, who do not comply with the above requirements, should consider applying for a lower-level qualification for which they meet the statutory and additional requirements.

How To Apply For Unisa Diploma in Accounting Sciences Courses

Follow the steps below to apply online for Unisa Accounting Sciences Courses;

  • Log in to UNISA’s official website.
  • Click “Apply for Admission” on the registration portal.
  • Click the “Apply Now” button.
Fill out the application form with the necessary information.
  • Certified copies of supporting papers should be uploaded.
  • Make an R140.00 non-refundable application fee payment.
  • Cross-check your application to confirm that it is complete.
  • Submit your application before the closing date

Documents To Apply For UNISA Diploma in Accounting Sciences

All applicants who wish to start a new programme should upload all the following required documents:

  • A copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
  • A copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate)
  • A copy of your Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
  • A copy of your official tertiary academic records if applicable and necessary
  • Copy of your marriage certificate or divorce decree if applicable

NOTE:

Only upload the required documents as individual files and not a complete set of documents as one file.

  • Files are not larger than 2MB (2048KB) each.
  • Only black and white documents may be submitted.
  • Only the following file types are allowed: PDF (Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format file), DOC (Word document file) or TIF (image file).
