How To Pay Unisa Registration Fee 2025: Unisa Registration Fee Payment Method 2025

Unisa provides a variety of different payment methods for registrants to find convenience during the registration process. This article has published the details to pay, payment channels, plus refund and other information.

In the case of electronic transfers, please ensure that the reference field is completed correctly. No cash or cheques will be accepted at any Unisa office. Cash can, however, be paid into the university’s bank account at any First National Bank (FNB) and ABSA Bank branches.

Registration fees for Unisa differ depending on your qualification, the number of modules, and so on, but basically, they include prescribed student fees (including registration fees), miscellaneous fees and fees for additional study material.

A minimum fee amount is payable before the closing dates for registration for each module or paper for which you register. If this amount is not paid before the closing date for registration, the university will not be able to process your registration. After paying the minimum amount, the outstanding balance must be paid by the relevant dates.

Unisa Registration Payment Date 2025

For undergraduate qualifications, honours, and postgraduate diplomas, the key registration and payment dates for 2025 are as follows:

Semester 1 Modules:

  • Registration opens: 5 January 2025
  • Registration closes: 26 March 2025
  • Final date for the initial minimum payment: 31 March 2025 (to finalize your registration)
  • Final payment due date: 31 August 2025

Semester 2 Modules:

  • Registration opens: 5 January 2025
  • Registration closes: 26 March 2025
  • Final date for the initial minimum payment: 31 May 2025 (to finalize your registration)
  • Final payment due date: 31 August 2025

Year Modules:

  • Registration opens: 5 January 2025

Unisa Semester 1st And 2nd Semester Registration Fee

Did you register for a full-year course or a semester course, the following are the amounts needed to be paid for both full courses and semester courses with the dates they must be paid:

Full-year registrations

  • Total fees (registration for all 9 modules)       R55 053.00

How Do I Pay My Unisa Registration Fee 2025?

Note: Please note that the fees stipulated are provisional and subject to change pending Council approval.  It would be prudent to plan for a 10% increase in fees for the next academic year.

The acceptance fee is payable on or before registration.  Registration will only be processed if this registration fee is settled in full or a valid Purchase Order (PO) is provided.

Payment Schedule for Unisa Fees 2025

Tuition fees need to be settled at the following intervals

  • 50% of total tuition on registration.

Year modules

  • 25% of the total tuition on the 15th of May, and then the balance on the 15th of August.

Semester modules

  • 50% of total tuition on the 15th of March (1st-semester modules) or the 15th of August (2nd-semester modules).

 

How To Pay Unisa Registration Fee 2025

Unisa does not accept cash and cheques at their offices. To pay your registration fees, you can use any of the payment methods listed below:

Debit cards

  • Debit card payments are accepted if you pay or register in person at any Unisa Regional office.

Credit cards

  • Credit cards are restricted to Visa and Mastercard. Credit card payments are accepted if you pay or register in person at Unisa in Sunnyside/Florida or one of the regional offices. Please note that these are real-time transactions.

Bank deposit

Please note that Unisa banks with First National Bank (FNB) and ABSA Bank. Unisa is a pre-approved public beneficiary.

Cash and direct bank deposits can be made at any First National Bank (FNB)and ABSA Bank in South Africa

  • if you already have a student number
  • in respect of fees, for example, study fees, examination fees (supplementary, sick or special exam fees), exemption fees and library charges
  • provided that the deposit slip is correctly filled in as follows:
    • Deposit reference: The first eight (8) blocks are for the student number (if the student number consists of only 7 digits, then a “0” must be filled in as the first digit of the student number). Leave one block open, then fill in the code number 5400374721 for study fees, 3000774039 for SBL student fees, 5400374225 for library fees or 5352X74608 for Matriculation Exemption fees.
  • Ensure that the deposit slip is correctly filled in as follows:
    • Deposit to: Unisa Student Fees
    • Bank account number: Unisa Student Fees
    • Deposit reference: The first eight (8) blocks are for the student number (if the student number consists of only 7 digits, then a “0” must be filled in as the first digit of the student number). Leave one block open, then fill in the following codes:

Please note:

  • Should any of the information on the bank deposit slip be incomplete or incorrect, the transaction will not be processed by the bank and/or may cause a delay in the allocation or transfer of funds to your account and as such the university cannot be held liable for delays caused.
  • Payments will be allocated within two (2) to ten (10) working days to the study fees account, provided that all the information on the deposit slip is correct.
  • No cheques are accepted.

Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT)

For students in South Africa using FNB Bank, Unisa is a pre-approved public beneficiary. The bank details are as follows:
