The Unisa registration open date for the 2025-2026 academic year has been released for applicants who were successful in the application process. The University of South Africa (UNISA) Online Registration 2025 academic year for Undergraduate & Honours qualifications, postgraduate and all other qualifications has opened for the first (1st) semester of 2025. Therefore, all undergraduate, honours, postgraduate and other qualification students and re-registering students should take note and register for the 2025 academic year within the prescribed given period of registration before the deadline.

Applicants (new applicants & Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification) may only register if they have received an offer of placement from Unisa and have accepted the offer online. Unisa reserves the right to not process and/or cancel your registration if it is found that you were incorrectly admitted to a qualification. Re-registering students must register for the 2025 academic year during the relevant registration period.

A minimum fee must be paid before the registration closing date for each module or paper. If this payment is not made by the deadline, your registration cannot be processed by the university. Once the minimum amount is paid, the remaining balance must be settled by the specified dates.

The registration portal of Unisa for Undergraduate, honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas is open from January to February 2025.

Master’s & doctoral qualifications

• Unisa’s first-semester registration portal for Master and Doctoral Qualifications opens from January to April 2025(some exceptions apply).

Second Semester Registration Dates At Unisa 2025

Online Unisa Registration Requirements  2025

Those registering at Unisa for 2025 must ensure they meet the statutory registration requirements for their chosen qualification and achieve the minimum Academic Points Score (APS) for their selected qualification(s). Registrants must upload all supporting documents along with their registration forms. The required supporting documents for Unisa registration are listed below:

• Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
• Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
• Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
• Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
• Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

• Only upload the required documents as individual files and not a complete set of documents as one file
• Files may not be larger than 2MB (2048KB) each.
• Only black and white documents may be submitted.
