The University of South Africa, Unisa announced that there are going to be separate registration periods for the 2025 academic year. Applicants who want to register for the first(1) semester and those who are willing for the second(2) semester can start their registration process as the registration portal has been opened. This means that you must register for all your modules for 2025 (semester 1 and 2 modules, pre-requisites, co-requisites, follow-on modules and year modules) before the closing date.

Registration fees for Unisa differ depending on your qualification, the number of modules, and so on, but basically, they include prescribed student fees (including registration fees), miscellaneous fees and fees for additional study material.

A minimum fee amount is payable before the closing dates for registration for each module or paper for which you register. If this amount is not paid before the closing date for registration, the university will not be able to process your registration. After paying the minimum amount, the outstanding balance must be paid by the relevant dates.

Unisa provides a variety of different payment methods for registrants to find convenience. This article has published the details to pay, payment channels, plus refund and other information. In the case of electronic transfers, please ensure that the reference field is completed correctly. No cash or cheques will be accepted at any Unisa office. Cash can, however, be paid into the university’s bank account at any First National Bank (FNB) and ABSA Bank branches.

Unisa Closing Date For Registration Payment 2025

The Unisa second semester registration date for Higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, BTech & degrees, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE):

• Registration for the second semester at Unisa for Higher Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, BTech, and Degrees, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), will open on 20 June 2025 and close on 29 July 2025. To ensure your registration is finalized, the initial minimum payment must be made by 31 July 2025. Additionally, all outstanding study fees must be paid by 31 August 2025.

Unisa Closing Date For Registration Payment 2025 For Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas:

• Only online registrations will be accepted for Honours and Postgraduate Diploma modules in the second semester. The registration period opens on 20 June 2025 and closes on 29 July 2025. To finalize your registration, the initial minimum payment must be made by 31 July 2025. All outstanding study fees must be paid by 31 August 2025.

Unisa Closing Date For Registration Payment 2025 For Master’s & Doctoral Qualifications At Unisa

The registration for Master’s and Doctoral qualifications at Unisa in 2025 will follow these timelines:

• For the first semester, registration opens on 4 January 2025 and closes on 30 April 2025.
• For the second semester, registration for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Leadership (MBL) qualifications opens on 20 June 2025 and closes on 29 July 2025.

Students with a 7-series student number enrolled in the School of Business Leadership (SBL) should contact the Graduate School of Business Leadership for assistance with re-registration via the website: www.unisa.ac.za/sbl.

Exceptions

(only valid for students registering for the qualifications listed below)

• First-time registering students will be assisted manually to register.
• Re-registering Unisa students must register during the prescribed registration period.

 How Much Is The Registration Payment 2025

Did you register for a full-year course or a semester course, the following are the amounts needed to be paid for both full courses and semester courses with the dates they must be paid:

Full-year registrations

• Total fees (registration for all 9 modules)       R55 053.00

Note: Please note that the fees stipulated are provisional and subject to change pending Council approval.  It would be prudent to plan for a 10% increase in fees for the next academic year.

The acceptance fee is payable on or before registration.  Registration will only be processed if this registration fee is settled in full or a valid Purchase Order (PO) is provided.  The bursar (sponsorship) letter is not sufficient for registration
