How Long Is A Higher Certificate At Unisa: Higher Certificate Courses at Unisa

At UNISA, a Higher Certificate typically takes one year of full-time study to complete. It should be in mind that, a higher certificate (which consists of 120 credits) must be completed in three years. To qualify for a Higher Certificate course, you need to have a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with at least 30% in the language of teaching and learning, a Senior Certificate (SC) with at least an F symbol on HG or an E symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning, or a National Certificate (Vocational) with at least 40% in the language of teaching and learning and where the completed vocational subjects are from the same field of study.

For Higher Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, BTech degrees, and the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), registration for semester 2 modules will open in June and close in July 2025. The final date for the initial minimum payment to ensure your registration is finalized is in July.

For Honours degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas, which require online registration only, registration will also be opening in June and closing in July, with the final date for the initial minimum payment being July.
